Rainy Season

17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

Acts 14:17

The rains come suddenly in Mid July

The sky is a monotonous gray most days

And the air is filled with the dove's solemn tune

Of pending danger from the coming haze

Because July brings the thunder storms

The lilies raise their white heads

In fields that once were a dreary brown

Skeleton trees resurrected from the dead

And the earth loses its withered frown

And smiles again as is the norm

And I never notice until it is almost done

That the trees, unaware, have turned over new leaves

Like my soul too hadn't noticed it needed to come

To the living water that drenches my heart, once peeved

By my own parched spirit my ignorance had formed

I welcome the rains.

Prayer: Loving Spirit, thank you for raining down ⛈🌈⛆on my heart that didn't even know it was in need of your love💓💕💖.  Thank you for bringing back to life every part of me so that I can serve the world in your name!
